High quality food, custom, handmade-food and excellent service here! The appetizer salsas are flavorful enough to ventilate your sinuses, the water is cold & fresh enough to quench your thirst, and the food is delicious enough to satisfy your appetite. Better than that - is their pricing - fair enough to save the bank! Free/complementary Wi-fi service is available so you don't have to use your expensive data-plan coverage; just ask your waitress for the secure password so you can leave a positive review here on Yelp! The owner(s), servers, and kitchen Stagg are both friendly, conversationally-available, professional. I highly recommend this restaurant to visitors, locals, and this is where people we care about are brought to eat.

So glad La Pine has such a great Mexican restaurant. Loved it every time I go- especially the carnitas tacos, the chef makes them just the right way every time. The service, atmosphere & tasty quality food are very pleasing. Yummm!

Excellent food and excellent service. We were passing through from the San Diego area, which has some pretty good Mexican restaurants. We like trying Mexican restaurants when we travel and were very pleased with the homemade-food. The salsa's are excellent and not over powering. The value is good. It is a must stop if you are passing through La Pine OR.

I've been eating here for years and have never been disappointed. I have never had a better taco but everything on the menu is great and the people are the best. I love this place!

Great Mexican food right on the highway in La Pine If you're driving in Central Oregon near Bend this is great Mexican food with delicious fresh salsa. Also has a high woofiness factor at lunch time!

This is a wonderful little small town restaurant with awesome Mexican food. The tortillas are freshly made. The employees are warm and friendly. If your driving through La Pine, stop in and enjoy a great meal! Kids welcome.

My wife and 3 kids just ate there. I had the chimmichanga with ground beef & my wife had one with shredded beef. They were both very tasty! The kids had tacos. They liked the tacos too! The food was at least a 4.5 or 5. The reason I gave the overall rating as a 3 is because we were seated in the very back of the restaurant. I honestly think that we didn't have a server. We had to ask for chips and it was almost impossible to get a refill on the soda. I have eaten there last summer and this wasn't a problem. Heck, i love the food, but today's service was awful. Service was a 1 out of 5. Overall... the food brought it to a 3 out of 5.

Why does one of the best Mexican restaurants we've ever eaten at have to be so far away from home! There was great service from the beginning and perfect attentiveness throughout. we were served a flight of three salsas, one a spicy tomatillo, much spicer than most restaurants dare to serve, another tomato based and mainly sweet, and the last a combo of sweet and spicy, the best of both worlds. The volume and quantity of salsa made a huge impression since I am used to asking for more salsa. Finally, we ordered fajitas and to my surprise they make their own tortillas, which means both the corn and flower were thick and tasty even on their own. Last but not least, everything was so fresh!

Just finished a good dinner here. Satisfying dinner with good food and fast service despite a good crowd at 8:30pm. Had a combination D10 which was good. others in party had chile rellano, chimicanga, etc. Son asked for no tomatoes on taco but that was still added. Didn't get refills on water. Good find for a remote Oregon area.

Terrible service at 4pm and was not busy at all. Charged extra for refills of soft drinks. Food was made wrong with sour cream and guacamole they simply scraped it off and reserved it. Salsa was good but waited forever for chip refill and it never happened. Begged for water refill a few times before it happened. We are use to good Mexican food being from Texas and we were disappointed here. We won't recommend this place to anyone.

Great Mexican place. Chicken fajitas were close to Indian kabab. Huge entree size so order accordingly :-)

This was one of the best Mexican restaurants that I have been to outside of Puerto Vallarta. The entire family loved every bit of the dinner. Salsa?..um.. Get me a bigger straw so I can drink it quicker. You want the best home made tortillas....look no further. We have found our favorite place for Mexican food.

Very good mexican food which I hardly expected to find around these parts. Service was better than most places you stop along your travels and everyone was very kind. Had tacos which are served on their own shells. It was all and all good dining experience.

Had enchilada, tamale, carnitas, rice, beans - all of them were acceptable, no off or unbalanced flavors. Not too expensive and portions were adequate, though with the carnitas, I got only three corn tortillas - not enough to use up the generous amount of pork. The food is fairly bland, which is to be expected in a town with an Anglo customer base. The green chile sauce will provide a bit of heat. The restaurant staff are hospitable and the food comes in a timely manner. There's both lunch and dinner menus and there's a good assortment of dishes. Included with the meal are chips and, either the aforementioned green sauce, or a milder red sauce. I'm likely to eat here when I'm in La Pine again.

Best Mexican food in all of Oregon! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. It's a hole in the wall restaurant but don't judge a book by it's cover. Highly recommend the homemade tacos, shell & all, and the carnitas. Everything is so flavorful and I have yet to find something that left me dissapointed. Big portions, chips & selection of salsas served before hand. Highly recommended!

Holy cats, who would believe you can find great Mexican food in the middle of Oregon? We walked here from the Best Western and weren't disappointed. Chips and salsa are great, with three kinds of salsa and a bowl to mix them. I had the buritto from the lunch menu (the dinner menu actually tries to give you two burritos which is far too much food!) and thought it was great. Hubby had the "street tacos" which aren't on the menu but our server happened to tell us about them. Hubby thought they were terrific. We live in Los Angeles, so have good Mexican all the time. I'd go back to this place often if we lived closer!

Three kinds of sauces are offered with your chips. Chunky salsa is quite spicy. Verde Sauce is excellent. Portions are ample. Rice is always fresh and fluffy, not dry. Reasonable prices, especially for lunch. Service is friendly, quick and professional. Dining room is a bit austere but relaxing. Well managed: consistent quality and service.

Outstanding in every way! Super friendly staff, clean and festive environment but not too loud, large portions, yummy food, good prices, excellent selection. No need to say anything more, this place is great!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
